Hi guys,

Another Australian here embracing the green side of the force! I used to be in the cabinet making/shopfitting game, then went into sales. Sold most of my tools (yeah, stupid I know) when my wife lost her job a few years ago. Getting a collection back together again to start up a woodworking side venture and just picked up the TS55/CT36 mdf pack.

Unfortunately I'm away for work for a few days so I can't play with my new toys just yet lol.

Regards,
Ben

Welcome [member=64076]LooseSox[/member]  good to see another Aussie here on the FOG.

Hi Ben, welcome to the FOG. I'm nesseled just up the road from you in the Adelaide  hills.

[member=42735]DB10[/member]  I did not know you were in the hills.

[member=64076]LooseSox[/member] I am 7 traffic lights north. (6 being in Port Augusta)  [cool]

Well I just drove through Pt Augusta a few hours ago, now chilling in Whyalla before I see a few more customers tomorrow.

[member=40772]Holmz[/member] Yep I'm one of the lucky ones that can live in a state that can afford to spend 2.3 billion dollars on a monument but can't afford to keep the lights on. It's back to hand tools in South Australia.

Welcome [member=64076]LooseSox[/member] .. always good to have another Aussie in the fold.

cheers,

Kev.

I think I vaguely remember how to use hand tools from when I was in tafe... might have to brush up on those skills with the issues of late! Having said that, last week being 42 degrees outside put the workshop around 46 degrees inside (that's 115f for the yanks!). Lasted about 15 minutes each time I went out there. Will continue building things when I get back home on Thursday. The weather is looking a bit more friendly then than last week.

Welcome to the FOG.

Since you're Australian, you might want to keep an eye out on the thread "One for the Aussies..." which is where a lot of the Australian oriented chat goes on.

The beer fridge is better when it is over 40C... But that relies on the windmills generating the power to run the fridge.  [wink]

Welcome to the FOG mate. It's a green slippery slope from here.

Ain't that the truth. I'm already working a mental plan to get a domino over the line with my wife. I've also recently started working a second job (got told to earn more if I want to spend more lol) with a store who is also a festool dealer. Might have to try float the idea of salary sacrafice with the boss and see what response I get.

Seeing the legs for my new workbench project were made from pink primed structural pine, they obviously needed painting as I wasn't having baby pink accents to the new bench! They have just been painted festool green, which looks pretty sweet next to the black formply top and sides.
