Ugh, more 'classic' style systainers. Haha. I absolutely hated my Makita MacPac 'classic' systainer. The plastic clips were cheap plastic compared to Festool/Tanos and didn't work worth a crap, especially when attached to a T-loc. I am repurposing it to make a compressor systainer.

gms002,  I understand you're sharing the info about the Hitachi systainers...

but if they are anything like the Makita systainer.....then they're JUNK ! ! !

The Makita track saw systainer I have is just all around garbage.  The plastic insert for the saw.....weak ! !

Plus, the classic style systainer.......POOR !    Just feels like cheap plastic all around.

I'm sure it has a lot to do with patents or a partnership with Tanos......which is why some manufactures are just not coming out with a tool box to compete with Festool.  But man, try to come up with something a little more creative.

Bosch has the L-Boxx, made by  Sortimo.  Which isn't all that great.  IMO.

It will be hard to compete with the T-Loc.

I don't know [member=8352]erock[/member] , sortimo has some advantages like that click together catch and the vertical carry handle included instead of a $16 add on.

Some may find the larger size more appealing too.  I personally don't , but it's not like it's a cheap knock off. Sortimo also have a full system approach just like Tanos.

You're correct [member=727]antss[/member]

Sortimo has a full line.    A lot cheaper, no doubt, with the Bosch logo.    I've been using the L-boxxs for lately and have found them a little difficult to connect to each other.  The T-Loc is much easier, for me.  Maybe I just need to get used to using the L-boxx ?

If I'm on a budget, the Bosch L-Boxx wins.  It's bigger.  Two handles.  and connects to other others just like the Tanos.  And they have a variety of sizes, just like the Tanos.

The one thing I don't like about the L-Boxx or the T-Locs....... A LOT of waisted space with tools dedicated to the box.

You could always just get a size 4 or 5 and pile several tools in there like guys used to do with milk crates and rigger's bags back in the days before fancy pants boxxes and 'tainers with "inserts"  [tongue]

I have 2 Hitachi routers and electric plane - all made in Japan. Excellent tools. I'm sure they feel better in genuine Hitachi cases.  Regarding the case quality - not so bad. I also have several Makita cases, can't complain either.  Genuine T-Locs fit and lock well on top of either Makita and Hitachi, so I'm happy with all of them. After all, they're just containers. Multiple colors look good too.  I like to have all my tools in systainers, festool or not.  Makes my life easier.

I have just bought 2 makpac systainers sizes 1. I think there is nothing inferior with them comparing them with classic festool systainers. They only cost me £35 for the two and I have lots of screw organisers that fit in them and beats the high prices of festool systainers .  Also the classic systainers are stronger and more secure than the t locs but not as user friendly.

The Classic systainer is just a pain, love my T loc's. I am a fan of the Dewalt T stak's too, thay make a decent case and cant be beat price wise! I am a contractor taking tools in and out of the truck or van all week and I need to get all the tools into one system as they are divided between Tstak's and T Lok's.

Resurrecting a thread from the dead.  Makita was banned in my house until their USA division changed something, and they changed that something, so Bob’s your Uncle.  Good timing, because I’ve been gifted a lot of cordless Makita this past year. To a degree, I like the Makpacs better than systainers.  The handle is infinitely better.  I can’t carry them by the foot slot as I do with the tlocs, but I tend to pack the Makpacs, so that point is mute.  Are the tlocs superior as far as speed and opening in the middle of a stack?  Sure.

i use makpacks and i never had any problem with them.  (other than cliping and un-cliping the actual things together......)  i do want to slowly move all my tools over to T-loc's though

The Macpac boxes seen to have undergone a minor revision - the first ones I bought had very stiff catches but a couple or recent ones seem to have that sorted

The Hitachi ones are perfectly good - work just are well as my tanos classics. The trolley is cheap and works perfectly well.

I have been buying Hikoki carts as they incredibly cheaper than Festool or Tanos.
