There are some specs I can't seem to locate for the HKC 55 circular saw, whether it be the Festool website, the product manual, retailer product listings, or online reviews. So, I was hoping my questions could be answered here.

Is the base plate steel or is it something like aluminum or magnesium (or a mix)?
Is the lower blade guard made of metal or plastic?
Is the maximum bevel angle 50 or 60 degrees? (I've seen both listed)
Is the included blade carbide-tipped?

Thanks

the blade guard is metal, and the blade supplied is carbide tiped.

i would have got the angle for you if i'd have know, i was handleing one today [mad]

Just took a look at mine;
The base looks to be an alloy casting, and painted or powder coated, so not sure if it’s aluminum or magnesium.
The bevel goes to 50 degrees.
As mentioned, the blade is carbide tipped, and the guard is metal.

Festool is very fond of magnesium-aluminium alloys lately, so that is probably what the base is made of.

The 60 degree spec you have seen is the max angle the FSK rail will adjust to for miter cuts.
