Homemade solutions for the $41 Festool MFT/3 Stop Flag?

So I really like my new MFT/3 Table so far. And I can see the potential to use multiple Stop Flags (part # 495542, see Festool Stop Flag ), but $41 seems pretty steep for such a simple part, even by Festool standards. I suspect there's more than one way to make a homemade version and before setting out I figured I would see if anyone had any suggestions that might prove a short cut to such discovery. Obviously a clamp on a block of wood works, but the key is having a way to have the flag rotate out of the way (but not move its location) when cutting a longer part. Any tips/photos appreciated!

If you want to get clever, you might consider making an add-on which would use the Kreg Swing Stops as shown here - http://www.kregtool.com/Precision-Trak-Stop-System-Prodview.html.  Obviously, you'd have to join the fence required by the Kreg solution to the track that comes with the MFT/3 to make things work right.  I use the Kreg system with my elderly Ryobi miter saw, and it seems to hold accuracy quite well.  The Swing Stops readily flip out of the way, unlike the Production Stop which doesn't.  Just a thought...
