Honda EU2000i in Systainer?

Has anyone ever tried to put a Honda EU2000i in a Systainer?

No but I think the carry handle on the EU2000i would be considerably better to lug it around than a systainer.

I thought about putting it on a Sys-Roll on the bottom and stack more sustainers on top with tools so I have a mobile power source to run tools/recharge batteries....

I haven't measured mine, but off the top of my head, I'm 95% sure the case for the 2000 is too large.  You could probably build something to accomplish what you want (make sure the exhaust can get out and allow room so you don't burn any surrounding materials).  If you could remove the requirement to power higher amp tools, maybe the 1000 would be a better choice?  I'm not sure if that improves your options or only reduces the weight though.

Already got the 2000... Sys 5 would require large scale cut-outs at both end as far as I can tell to fit it. Not sure if you take the cover off the genny if that changes. Maybe there is a way to just modify a sustainer lid and put it on stilts in all 4 corners to achieve what I am thinking about....? How to make it stable and connect it to the Sys-roll is the question....? Thx for responding and brainstorming with me. Appreciate it!

I wouldn't remove the cover on the EU2000 as that is where much of the engineering that makes it quiet resides.

Good point....And I want to be able to lift the genny out the Systainer for stand-alone use too....

Gotta think about the stilts.....

I doubt the EU2000i is designed to be run from inside of any container with heat and ventilation being the biggest concerns.

There are containers with proper openings for RV use out there.....

Hi,

Brainstorming is always great, I'd like to offer 2 ideas.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but what you basically want to do/have is that generator sitting on a SYS-Roll and the ability to stack a couple of Systainer on top. Right?

Have you thought of building a base and a top plate for the generator?

If you take a T-LOC SYS-1 and cut it at any desirable length. Partly fill bottom with epoxy to give it additional strength and build a structure/baseplate that is hold in place by the epoxy and to which the generator will be mounted. Find a solution to mount the Systainer Lid on top of the generator.

Another Idea would be to build a "skeleton systainer" - Same principle. Cut a SYS-1 so you get top and bottom. Some aluminum rods... I guess you get the idea.

Here's what I did for a compressor.  Used two shelf brackets, some T-bolts to hold it on the front up-rights of the sys-roll and a Sys-cart base.

And to give the reasoning behind this I need a mobile workstation when I do work at my boat at the dock that require power tools....Obviously setup works for a job site as well.....

That is even better with the shelf brackets.....they might be in the way though with the Honda...Hmmmm
