Rusty, for practical purposes the older CT22 and the current CT26 have the same suction and bag capacity. You can even buy CT22 bags that are similar to the cloth-like CT26 bags.
As it happened in 2010 when the CT26 and CT36 were being introduced to North America, I was opening my new cabinet shop. Assuming there would be good deals on remaining stock of CT22, I told my dealer and other dealers in the Los Angeles area that I was willing to buy several CT22. At the time I already owned 4 of them. I wanted to stick with the CT22 so that I only needed to keep one kind of bag in inventory. I originally bought a CT22 in 2006 because I did not want to lift a full bag out of the larger CT33.
Two of the Kapex in my shop still have dedicated CT22, connected to the Kapex with 2.3m x 36mm AS hose. I have used that length 36mm AS hose with my Kapex. My 2 Kapex which are permanently located in my shop also have standard miter saw dust shrouds behind them, Those shrouds are connected to my shop duct collection system with 100mm hoses. Those collect any dust and chips not caught by the Kapex dust port. The fact is that some Kapex cutting techniques are not as efficient for dust extraction as others. However, the technique you use for a given task first and foremost must be appropriate for the task without consideration of dust collection.
