Hose for TS55?

Specifically, would it just make sense to upgrade my ct26e to a 36mm hose and use that for all tools?
That depends entirely on which tools you have. Not all are compatible with the 36mm hose.
Basically all of the sanders, Domino, PS420, older OF1010, all have the small port.
Were the bigger tools/ports can take either. The 27mm goes inside or the 36mm fits over the outside.

Bumping an amazingly old and very thorough thread. Does anyone know if the info is still accurate with the ‘new’ hoses?

Not so much the new hoses, but the new bayonet style hose-ends... the D27 became worse with a smaller cross section. It will jam easier.

If you want to buy a 36 hose, get a cleaning kit.

My 27mm hose will not stay inside the port on my 850, too sloppy and falls out

With the D27, we're so used to the snug fit of the internal diameter on tools such as the TS saws, sanders and domino that when it comes time to use it with the HL, it's always "too loose". I had that same issue. You just have to really JAM it into the port. Maybe you could wrap a short length of bicycle inner tube to help.

That said, if you can get the D36 hose, it's so much better - and the chips don't clog the hose as much.

OF1400 and 2200 appreciate it quite a bit too.

Absolutely right on this^^^ They don't cost much more than the hose alone. It's not as big of a difference as it used to be, but still good.
