I would like to know if there is a primer on hoses. i.e when do you use what hose?

The std hose is a 27 mm. Then there is a 36 mm and also a 50 mm.

So when does one use a larger hose.  And will the 36 and 50mm fit all products, some of the products?
I would imagine that using  larger hose is better.  But will it fit? I know an adaptor can be added, but would like to know what the native size is.

I wonder if there is a compatibility chart available somewhere--couldnt find it at the festool site.  If anyone can shed some light on this matter I would appreciate it.  Specific tools of interest are the Domino, TS 75 , ETS 150 and the RS2.

Thanks

Vijay

The D27 fits all Festool tools (not the drills). The D36 also fits 1400, 2000 routers, 850 planer, TS 75 and TS55. I don't think the D50 is meant to fit the tools?? That is for the tools in the US.

Is the D50 the wide one that comes with the boom arm kit?  If so, it fits the dust collection port on my miter saw perfectly (which I think is a 2" port).

Yes, a section of  50 mm hose comes with the Boom Arm.  What brand / model of mitre saw does it directly fit?  I have a basic model Hitachi, and nothing amongst all 3 Festool hose sizes, the Fein Turbe II hose, the Craftsman 2 1/2 inch hoses or any of several adapters I have is a good fit.

Vijay,

Brice has it right about the hoses. The 36 mm is the better choice for must shop clean-up, the 1400 and 2000 routers and the planer.

Vijay,
I use the 36 mm for the TS 55 and OF 1400 because it clears the chips quicker with no jams.  I use the 27 mm for my OF1010, and the sanders.  Oh and the 27 mm for the Domino too.  Hope that helps.

Hi,

I use the d36 on the OF1400 and it makes a real noticable difference on that. I have used it on the TS55 it seems to help some but not a whole lot with the exception of fine dust like MDF then the difference becomes noticable.

A good opportunity to promote our FAQ Database!

Go to http://www.festoolusa.com. In the top left corner you will find a link called "FAQ Database". You can either look up questions and answers by tool category, or you can use the search function. If you don't find an answer for your question, you can ask your question directly in the database (click on ?Ask). This way you are helping to expand the database.

Here are some examples about questions one hoses and the corresponding answers in the database currently:

- What are the different hose diameters for?
- Which hose do you recommend for optimal dust extraction?
- Will the 36 mm diameter hose work with all Festool tools?

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong about asking questions on the forum. I just wanted to offer the FAQ database as an alternative. The more the database is used and the more questions are asked, the more complete the database will become.

Regards,

Christian

Good point! Thanks for the reminder.

Thank you Christian.  That was what I was looking for, but could not find it on the website.

Does anyone know if you can buy the boom arm hose?  I need a short length of hose to go from my CT22 to a Clearvue CV06 mini cyclone which sits on top of the CT22.

Mark--

Have a look at the parts page for the boom arm.

First, get into EKAT.

Then navigate to Entire catalog/Accessories/CT ASA/492762.

It will be helpful when you're talking to Festool Service about buying the short hose.

The part for just the hose is 452-386.

Hi,

I wouild be curious to know the price for the hose part?  The EKAT doesn't list the price for that. ???  The end connectors are $20 US as listed in the regular catalog.  If you need them too then you may be better off just ordering a regular D50 hose and cutting it to length. Depends on the price of the hose part.
