How do you like your sleeved hose?

I have seven hoses covered with the Techflex and never experienced static charge, and it's all sorts of hoses...Festool, Bosch, and Fein.  Oh, and I do not cover the entire hose, Originally I did not then realized that it was unnecessary for the first 4-5 feet.

I have on Festool Hose with a Techflex type product(Festool green color) and never had an static on it either.

I don't personally like them but a couple of my guys in the shop really like them. FWIW I just received a new one last week and they are longer two joined hose's. It's one long tapered hose which is an improvement over the old one it was two hose's connected and was a pain. The joint would constantly come apart.

Regarding the static:
It was really giving me light shocks when touching the hose.
Might have been something in my setup, because until now I only experienced it once!

Setup was:
- small balcony, single power outlet inside, door almost closed behind me
- sanding with ETS EC 150/5
- on top of a Systainer stack (SYS-MFT brought up to working height)
- CTL-SYS as a Vac

So maybe the plastic of the Systainer stack or something else contributed.
It was just a small sanding job for a tiny table, so I just kept "grounding" the hose every so often, for the build up to be minimal.
Maybe the weather? Warm Summer day, ending in a nice summer-rain...

If you search, there are other threads about static shocks using the TS and standard Festool anti-static hoses, so I think it's your set-up (luck of the draw) and not the fact that the hose is covered with Techflex.

I did the modifications with similar product like the Techflex and shrink tubing.
What I experienced on this, was some bad static build up while sanding! Please be aware of this.
This might be connected to the specific product I used, I don't know.

Interesting.  Anyone else using the Techflex method experiencing static build up?

None at all - I have made two (one 5m long 36mm with a 27mm adaptor for static overhead use and one 2.5m 27mm for portable) and use them all the time for sanding, routing and sawing. Never had a static problem or blockage and the outside stays clean.

I should update.  For myself, the performance of the 27-22mm proved to be wiggidy wiggidy wack.  It was nice not having snags...alas...you won't get snagged with the diy option.  With a freshly washed sleeve ready to go back onto the tiny hose, I looked at both, shook my head, and gave them a proper funeral.

Apparently a new and improved hose is coming from Festool.

My sleeved hose is giving up the ghost, I think the plug-it is developing a glitch so I am eagerly anticipating the new and improved hose. It will be "good riddance" when I replace the sleeved hose. Expensive and nothing special really. I remember when it was introduced and offered in a Systainer (!).  I just shook my head...

I did a DIY for sleeving my hose and power cord using sleeve and shrink wrap from Amazon ... and regardless if it's DIY or OEM from Festool, it's a very functional upgrade. Highly recommended. (I used one of the heavier cords in the bundle so it works with all of my Festool products, including the heavier electrical draw units like the OF1400)

I have the 10m Festool hose. I like the extra reach when working with any vac larger than a Midi. It has popped apart twice but not the end of the world.

I teleflex two other hoses. Just keep in mind the hose will become very stiff. If you get something stuck in there plan on having a straight metal pipe the length of the hose to remove it. I sucked a rubber glove into mine by accident a hour after wrapping the hose. Took a long time to remove it.
