How I spent my Saturday afternoon.... five hours of it anyway!

So, when I got home from Africa for my short six-day stay, there was a ginourmous box in my garage waiting for assembly.  Today, just three days before going back to the land of overpopulation and the Ebola virus, I spent five hours putting together my new JDS 3HP Cyclone Dust Collector.  It also has a separate motor that operates a flapper for the filter whenever the system shuts down. The unit pulls 2300CFM...massive! [scared]  I will be pulling off the three-way, 4" splitter and going with 8" to 6" ducting on the ceiling, and then dropping to 4 or 5 inches depending on the particular machine. (Most are 4", but my Hammer A3 41 is 5", and I may increase the diameter of my Sawstop DC port.)

Unfortunately, I STILL don't have my shop electrically wired.... so I'm stuck looking at all my really nice, heavy duty 220-240V machines that don't work yet! Grrrr....[mad]   Electrical Contractor is coming on my return in June.

I am also putting in a full 2-ton AC/Heating/Dehumidifying system in the shop. Blower will be in the attic next to a 4HP Air Compressor and HVAC registers throughout the 1000SF garage.  Plan to match the humidity with the rest of the house.
The DC came with a partner... a JDS Air-Tech HP Air Filtration Unit which I will also install in June.  Running 6" ducting from the DC, also in June when installing my Festool boom arm and energy box.

I'm planning to have my shop fully operational by October. Full of big machines and a ton of the green stuff, which has grown considerably over the last month. (Latest is a OF 1400 being delivered on Tuesday).

HATE going back to Africa this week! sigh..... [crying]

Cheers,

Frank

Forget 'Ebola', looks to me like you caught 'Festola' - and a particularly virulent strain I believe!

;D

Unfortunately I hear there is no cure, but it can be treated. Sadly, treatment is not cheap!! Ask me how I know...

The only way I know to treat Festola is to contact ToolNut and buy more! [big grin]

Cheers,

Frank

P.S. - Did you get my table, and how much do I owe you?  (Also, you kinda win my contest from some time ago with your rail solution. Would you like a NAINA blade bag?)

I had some personal issues so didn't get to Costco yet but am going tomorrow. I'll let you know the total later.

And yes, I would LOVE a NAINA blade bag. It's actually one of the things I have been drooling over. I'll PM you my contact info, or you can get it off the shipping label on your Keter table - whatever works.

ahha nice..toolnuta is the only treatment for festoola [laughing]

In my experience, JDS makes great products. I have a ceiling mounted JDS dust filtration unit. It has worked great for years and years and keeps my shop very clean and free of dust in combination with a cyclone dust collector and more recently a Festool extractor.

Since this thread was brought back from the dead and has some 'holes in it, I wanted to note that Frank DID get his Keter table from me as promised, and I got my blade bag from him as promised.

Group hug!

[big grin]
