"CAP-ex", like a baseball cap?

"CAPE-ex", like Zorro's cape?

Some other way?

Thanks,
Ned

The German word for this unit is: "Kappsäge", roughly translated saw for crosscuts. Kapp is crosscut and säge is saw. The "a" in Kappsäge is pronounced like the a in large so the "a" in Kapex will consequently sound the same. I do not know how it is spelled internationally in phonetic characters but according to my dictionary it looks like: ka:p'ex.
I hope this helps.

So it's more like COP-ex with the "ex" moving to a schwa, thus sounding like "ucks"...COPpucks?
I assume the accent is on the first syllable.

Indeed the accent is on the first syllabe. The last part is pronounced as in FedEx. The first part as indicated above. If this is too complicated, you can always use the partnumber when you order. ;-)

If you get some on here and raffle them and if I win that one, I'll pronounce it any old way Festool wants -- even in the privacy of my own shop ...
...

promise.
