Hello and thanks in advance for some help and advice.

I made a King size headboard from some 130 year old pine and I want to attach a face frame around it.
I want a 1/4" relief  on the face frame for a good look.
Great Idea but.....
How does on do that with The Domino Joiner?
I tried shimming the bottom plate with 1/4 " stock on test pieces but before I proceed....
Is there a better way to get nice consistent results?
All help is very much appreciated.

Oh by the way, this is my first Domino project. I used the #8 domino to join all 5 6"x 77" boards with great success, now I seek advice.

Thanks

That's all you have to do! Plunge one workpiece with no shim, and the other with a reliably flat consistent thickness shim( 1/4" melamine) .
