Hi all, I have to make wooden rod with diameter 42mm, 4 meter long. For this task I plan to start with square rod 42x42mm, than use CMS router table and mill all four sides with rounding cutter. But there is a problem I ask you for help. The only suitable rounding cutters I have found have radius 20mm or 7/8“ – that’s more than 22mm.

Don’t you have any source of cutter with radius 21mm?
Any other ideas how to do it?

Thanks in advance
Daniel

Guido Henn made a video of a jig using a straight bit on a router table to make dowels of any radius. Maybe someone could post a link to it if they know it? I don't have it to hand.

You can use a table saw blade instead of a router in a similar setup.
