I am very tired of dodging the pins on my DF 500 and would just like to remove them.  It is a shame that there is not an optional disable like on the DF 700.

I saw someone mention in an older thread that taking them out is easy, but no details.  It is not obvious looking at them and the housing.

Thanks,

Jerry

You can lock them closed with an Allen key, I think it’s detailed in the supplemental manual.

From the Supplemental manual:

"The locating pins cannot be locked in the
retracted position."

Remove the head, the pin holders can be removed with a pin punch. They're driven out rear to front.

Thanks Tom, that did the trick.

With all the tools I have, I don't have a punch set so I cut off some 9/64" drill rod and that worked.

I did manage to lose one of the friction-fit caps.  If I don't find it, I'm sure I can order one.

Where you at in Colorado? I’m currently in Colorado Springs.
