Hiya folx in the eastern US
How's it going for you? Hope the blizzard passes over soon!
Good luck!

[member=23615]charley1968[/member] - Thanks for the thought, and for starting the thread. It will be interesting to get real-time updates, the storm covers around 20% of the US I believe.

Here on the Jersey shore we are waiting for it to arrive. Latest forecast puts us on the line between 6-12" of wet snow or freezing rain. Either could wreak havoc with our overhead power lines. If we loose power we also loose heat, could get interesting.

To top it off the storm hits here around high tide with a full moon around 1 AM, & we have flood warnings. Moved everything but my truck to a parking garage off the island.

How's everyone else making out?

No worries, we"ll be fine... as long as we don't lose our internet connection...

Central VA, snow started at 7am. Stopped around 5pm. We have approximately 5". Supposed to start back up anytime now and they are predicting 12" or more total by end of day tomorrow.

Eastern, Pa here. Nothing yet. Supposed to start anywhere from midnight to 3 am. Calling for around 12" here. Hopefully power holds out. Only reason I don't like this, I had to actually put all my tools and workbenches away so I could put my truck away. First time in almost a year since I've had it that's it's been in the garage. Not sure what to do with myself Saturday while it's snowing! Guess I'll be the next one building a garage.
Hope everyone else makes out okay.

It's started again here, but now it's freezing rain. Ugh.  [sad]

Now I'm wishing that I hadn't run the snowblower down the drive during the lull.

Central West Virginia has over ten inches at 6PM and it's still coming down. I shoveled the driveway once and will do it again tomorrow after it all stops. But we're good: milk, bourbon, and electricity all still in good supply.

Lovettsville, Virginia.

I'm here on a sheep farm that grows grapes in summer.

I drove here from Houston, Texas, so I am a stranger in a strange land.

Snow is coming down hard.

Back in the 70's they had this movie called The Fog, with Adrian Barbeau.  Fog monsters came to the town and took revenge on the ancestors of folk that wronged them.

They are talking about a full moon here tonight.

Anybody know if the townfolk in Lovettsville wronged any Blizzard werewolves in the past?

The place I am staying at is pretty old, hate for a bunch of mad blizzard werewolves to come looking for some past enemy that lived here.

I forgot the silver bullets back in Houston.

I doubt Werewolves are out and about in that kind of weather. Our dog didn't like to go out in the rain, so i know..

NJ Here.  They're calling for 18-24", just started at 9pm.

We've got our milk and bread, plenty of gas for the generator, and the car is plugged in! Let's get some snow!

Blizzards invite Yeti... Audi's got you covered

Ken

Dodge is big, slow, and lumbering.  Not graceful in any way at all.  It could climb a mountain, with an audi in the bed while towing a gooseneck trailer full of hay bales, but the experts on the video leave me to believe this would not impress the Yeti.

Anyone know what round for Yeti?  Also, what is the temperature for medium rare Yeti?

Almost forgot, what wine goes best with Yeti?

In Central NJ. Started around 9 and so far the roads are covered and I am sure it will be fun cleaning up tomorrow.  As long as we don't lose power, I say let it snow.

I'm pretty much dead center PA, hour above Harrisburg, 40 minutes below Williamsport, and an hour from State College.  Yesterday they were saying 2-5, presently have 6-7.  Time to start blowing snow  [sad].  Between my place, corner business, in-laws and daughters I should be done by Monday.

Well we are at 10" and its seems as it will be coming down hard for about another 5-6 hrs  Weather Channel saying prime time for biggest band of snow will be around 12-1.
So looking forward to getting out to deal with this. Living on a court is a problem as the plows don't do curb cuts so I have to clear to the where they made thier last pass
Snow Blower ready to go and soon will I be

Stay Safe my Friends

I took my dog out to relieve himself an hour ago.  He was like a porpoise bounding through the snow.  After finding a good place to go, he turned around and headed back to the house.  We have 16" right now, and it's still coming down.  BTW, here's a really good national high-resolution radar loop provided by NWS.  You can watch entire regions, not just the local weather stations.  Enjoy!  [smile]
