I picked up CT 26 used. Got it home plugged it in and is does nothing. 🤷‍♂️😢 WTH this thing looks brand new. Seller claims he never used it and of course is nowhere to be found. I went back to the police station where we exchanged cash and the Ct 26.  The guy was wearing a mask(thanks Covid 19) and his car somehow stayed out of frame on all the cameras in the lot.

I popped it open filter looks brand new dust bag is new. Then it hit me, the stench of a burnt out motor. Ugh 😫 So I’m out $500.

How is Festool’s customer service? The label has a production date of 2019-08. Will festool honor the 3 year warranty for a second owner? Without the original proof of purchase? Or am I screwed?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Regards

If you don't have proof of purchase they go off the manufacturing date.

You should be fine.

You've hardly been "burned by a CT26." You got burned by a scammer for not testing the product before purchase. If anything, the fact it's a CT26 and under a generous warranty are the very reasons you're NOT burned.

That was a poor choice of words, thanks for pointing it out.

Of all the power tools (corded or cordless) I have sold, not one single buyer was willing to pay their money without first trying it out. If I picked a location in the public, I had to make sure a power outlet was available.

First time I didn’t try Out a used tool. Totally my fault. I learned an expensive lesson.

I won’t say it was an expensive lesson.
Other not having it for a few weeks and the pain of shipping it back the Festool.
They will go through it and you will end up with a like new unit.
