I HATE Bob Marino, Festool and all of their stinking tools.

Fred,

Unfortunate name you have especially with a workshop in your "basement"  ; :D

Do a Google for Fred West murderer England if you don't know what the hell I am talking about  ???

I absorb your hate and transform it into rainbows, flower garlanded unicorns, and Malibu Barbie in her pink Corvette Love with a scoop of vanilla and cherry on top. Of course, I have a Kapex and I think my next kitchen remodel will require a laminate router, so I don't have quite as much displaced aggression. You need to go outside and split some wood Fred.  ;)

I hear that the Festool fire wood splitter is coming out soon. The      Uberackskeil  (UBAKIL)  . It is rumoured to have a laser for perfect  centering of the wood.  The clean cut, evenly sized pieces look like they came from a factory that produces fire wood! :o    And yes it will have DC. You can even use it right in the house next to the fireplace. A wood transport unit will be available for attachment to the top of a CT, much like the hose garage attaches. The UBAKIL can be broken down to fit in three Systainer - Vs for mobility. Making custom , on site, living  room, fire wood splitting a reality. :D

Festool should create - sponsor their own Winter Olympic Bobsled Team (can you see that shinny green and black sled glistening on the ice !) , Luge and Super G Downhill also. All to get down the slope faster.  ;D

Joiner, what about my namesake the murderer? We are still on very close terms so I suggest that anyone gloating about the Kapex or MFK 700 may want to send them to me post haste.  :P ;D :o Fred

That router looks sweet - I'd definately buy one!

Got one of these: http://www.festool.co.uk/artikel/artikel_weiterleiten.cfm?id=414 ?!?   I bet that you need a full "six-pack" of routers!  ;D

I've been wanting to get my hands on one of those for a while now.  I use a trim router for all sorts of things in my shop and love it.  I went for years never thinking much of trim routers.  Then one day, I decided to see what I could do with one.  So I bought the Ridgid model, which has been very useful.  Then I learned about the Festool model, and wanted one.

Then I hit the NAINA brick wall.

still gotta waaaaiiit.......

Eli, seriously if someone with my name visits just pay him no never mind. :o)  :-X Fred

Fred I would be very worried if Fred West did visit anyone as he is dead he killed himself in prison but his wife is still alive in a prison near me.

Well Joiner I guess my question is then.....Why are you in prison?  :o Also I did not no that they allowed male and female cohabitation in prison so why is Fred West's wife in a cell near you?  ;D By the way, doesn't the woodworking in prison get a little tough? I would think that a lot of the power tools would not be allowed.  8) Fred

Hi all.
Yes, that seems like a nice router. I would even guess that it's available here in Sweden. But I don't know anymore. Please don't kill me for this but...

I have had the OF1010 since long and I'm very happy with it. A couple of weeks ago I bought a Bosch 1617 to mount permanently in a router table. I haven't built the table yet, and have been using the 1617 without table. I actually like it more than the Festool. And remarkably enough - it has much better dust control than the Festool.

How is this possible? Isn't Festool the king of the hill in dust collection?

Also, I found the Bosch to be smother in almost every aspect; staring, stopping, plunging, bit changing, vac connection..

Should I go for a trim router from Bosch or from Festool?

//Michael

If you like it better, you like it better. Fred only kills people who won't let him have new tools....

Michael, Eli is absolutely correct but just to be on the safe side you may send me your OF1010 and keep the Bosch.  :o 8) ::) Fred

Bob, Timmy C. and I meet secretly on a weekly basis to discuss our plans for world domination! We all have code names too.

Bob is affectionately known as the Red Skull. Timmy C. is AKA The Kingpin and I go by the sweet moniker of Dr. Victor Von Doom!

No one can stop us!

I even have a "mini-me"!

Good idea, except they'd surely be protested and with good reason.  They would undoubtedly have some secret engineering tricks in their sled and clothing that would bend the Olympic rules.

That's a tasty little bugger isn't it!?!    8)

Yea, and I'm not referring to the aforementioned "sugarsnaps", either...

Looks like my shop will end up with yet another Festool router-like-device at some point!

So Eli, Jim, Dan, etc., are you considering the MFK 700 prior to the Kapex? Myself, I am hoping to get them both at the same time and like TOMORRROW!:o) Alright that is just a wish but I truly am torn between the two and will probably just get both immediately when available. ;D Fred
