I'm really looking forward to the launch of the TS60, here in the US. As I recall, it has been stated that it actually will happen. My question is when?
I am considering selling my current TS55 to the company where I work, to be used in the solid surface department. Mine is the older, corded, version with the thicker blades and riving knife. It has several Lietz blades that are specific to plastics like that.
The foreman is willing to buy them one. They bought a Makita a few weeks ago, but it was a disappointment, and was sent back. The track was not straight, so mating parts had a gappy fit.
Mine has always done well enough for seams directly from the saw, so they decided that the minimal cost difference was not worth the time to deal with it. I made the offer to sell them mine because I am thinking that the thicker (potentially stiffer) blades are better for that application. Absolute straightness is the most important factor.
If the TS 60 is going to be on some kind of "pre-order" type deal, like they sometimes do, a timeline would be nice to know. If it's going to be a month or so, I can share with them for a while. If it won't be until August or something, they will be looking at getting a new one, I can't share that well... [big grin]
