I need help lining a small box please.

I built a few small boxes (6"x6") and i want to line them with some sort of soft material, but keep in mind that the cargo area of the box is all wavy and not square so cutting material would be very different. i have heard of some kind of powder that you can blow in? on top of adhesive? does anyone know about this or how to do it? help would be appreciated.

It's called "flocking".

You apply/spray in adhesive, and then shake it into the box area.  Basically it's like "powdered" velvet or felt... However you want to describe it.

You can find it in various colors, but green & red seem to be the norm.

Just a bit of advice, make sure to use plenty of flocking when you apply it.  The adhesive is the same color as the flocking and in sketchy lighting it might look like you have good coverage only to find out otherwise when everything dries.  Any excess flocking will shake out after the adhesive is dry.  They have plenty of colors to choose from, if you order from the company directly vs a company like Woodcraft, who only stocks the popular colors.

It won't have a lot of texture and will have the look of felt, but if that's what you're after then it would work.  Maybe if you mix a few shades of green (with some brown and yellow patches) together it might look more realistic.

Sooo i went and got the flocking today and could not find the glue, i looked online and found it but guess what. they hate us up here in alaska and wont ship me the colored glue cause they say it is hazardous, so i had to use a local glue that dries clear. it didnt turn out as good as i wanted and i think the key to that is the colored adhesive. i think next time i will paint the area the same color as the flock that ill be using then use the clear glue on top of that.
