Festool also offer these type of cabinets in 2 sizes for 4000 or 5000 euro. I have seen them but I can't find a link right now.

And I thought the regular Sysport was a little on the pricey side.

They're available here for only $4495 with all the options  [big grin]:

Wow, did you see how much the shipping weight on these things, 800-1,200 lbs.

HA!!!  Visited your Snap-On pusher lately???

[scared]

No, I can't afford to.  I know we've talked about the pricing on the Sysports before and they really are reasonably compared to other tool cabinets.

I looked at a toolbox on a Snap-on truck yesterday that cost more than a good used pickup truck!  (US)$14,995.00!!!  [scared]  [eek]  [scared]  [blink]

That's why you buy them second hand.  A well looked after Snap-On KRL is as good as new even when it is 10 years old.  I have no idea who buys them new...

Bought all three of mine new. The last one was the KRA2418 [smile]

As nice as Snap-On is, those are Lista or Stanley Vidmar.  I have a couple Vidmars in the shop- the drawers are rated to 400lbs each- i have stood in one and it still slides without issues (although I am a bit lighter than 400lbs).  They are worth their weight and as much as I like Snap-on these industrial cabs are pretty much bullet proof.

Anybody that's buy a new Snapon box in this economy would have to be an idiot.  They're available on CL all day long for 35-50% of truck prices.

Like buying a new boat...

No offense intended to Craftsman above - his post was made while mine was being typed...  But I still stand by the fact that the resale value is so low on like new Snapon boxes, that unless you are just looking for ways to spend money, used is the ticket.

Whew... That's one big sysport and one big price ticket... Mine are just stacked on a humble shelf made of left overs from my welder.

Doesn't look like you can open a Systainer without lifting it out first.  If that's correct, that would be disappointing.

True, used is the better and cheaper way and no offence taken. I bought mine years ago when I worked for Land Rover North America. Not as a mechanic but as a construction consultant supervising construction of Land Rover Centres across the U.S. . I was also building a Series 111 Land Rover from scratch. We got a pretty good discount through corporate

At the moment, used boxes are a steal.  The used not to be.  Last year I bought a KRL double width roll cab, top box, big side locker with the vertical storage units and drawers...for £3000.  UK price new - £14,000.  It has all been well looked after, and apart from a couple of scratches on the back, you'd not know it was 5 years old.

Pity second hand festool is not in the same place - it rarely comes up in the UK, and when it does, it goes for silly money.
