At the very first training class Sedge mentioned in passing going to a plant  and seeing some of the louvered shutter machines still in operation.  Now we see what they looked like.  Good find!

I was flipping through a book on Bookshelves this weekend and noticed the author had a couple Festo tools in his photos.  The copyright was just 1999 and the tools looked pretty new.  I hadn't realized the name change was that recent.

The name change occurred in 2000. See Festool's History Page.
 
Great stuff. Maybe Mr. Marino can tell us what it was like to sell the line back then.  ;D
