Hello,  I'm considering buying a used Shaper Origin.  There aren't many used ones out there for sale to get a strong sense of what their value is.  Given the one year warranty, limited history, and the relatively new market the product created, does anyone have a sense of what a good price is?  I saw one listed here recently, new in box, for $2100.  Thanks.

Keep in mind the early adopters only paid 1899. If going used I'd probably want it to be $1700. But given this is Gen1 and Tooltechnic recently acquired Shaper if you can wait it out a few years it may be worth it to do so.

I agree.  I'd feel a lot better about buying a Shaper Origin backed with a Festool Warranty and support system.  The whole concept of buying a 1st or 2nd generation product that was originally offered thru a Kickstarter campaign is a new experience for me, but it looks like a great tool.

I know the parent company acquired Shaper, but so far it seems to continue running independently.  I'm sure TTS will help with Shaper's continued success, but I haven't heard a peep about integrating the after sales support in any way?  Is this an assumption/speculation?

To the best of my knowledge Shaper is operating independently.  The purchase by TTS (not Festool) will I suspect offer behind the scenes support.

Peter
