Would like to use a shallow bearing bit with the MFS to rout dados as shown on the left here in this pic from Brice Burrell's website:

I guess it's something I'll have to put together myself as there are lots of bearings offered on Festools website but I'm not familiar with this whatsoever.
Can someone help me out please?

Thanks Corwin!

But as its whiteside I'll need another collet too as here in europe we use the 8 or 12mm collets and bits. There is though one dealer in the UKUK that I know that sells Whiteside bits so I could get one and a (half inch I believe) collet then.
Are there no Festool options?

Yes, there are festool options, but I can't find the productnumber when looking through the consumables list for the of1400 on the Dutch festool site.

But I know there is a 20 mm with 8 mm shaft with a bearing on top in the assortiment-box, I'll go and check if they mention the partnumber on the box.

/edit: it was 19 mm, partnumber on the shaft says 491028. It has an 8 mm shaft, diameter 19mm,  NL 25mm (depth) and a metal bearing at the top (a search on the Dutch festool site gave the correct numbers, but the picture that was next to it had a smaller diameter bit with the bearing at the bottom.

Frank-Jan,

I have that box with the bit you've mentioned but I'm afraid using it as I'll have to reference the bit against the upper part of the MFS rail and thought it to be too risky cutting into the MFS by accidentally forcing to much pressure into the rail . A shallower bit would eliminate this risk.

Great joiner1970,

I ordered two 8mm bits and they send to Finland for 6,50 GBP.  [laughing]

Many thanks for helping me out!

No worries , wealdens are really great lots of people use them here in the UK. The cutters they sell are very good quality and most stuff I have ordered has turned up next day.

joiner1970,

wanted to thank you again. Today the cutters arrived by mail (signed for  ;)) and I am very happy with them.
I guess I'll do future business with them.

Regards,
Mauri
