Does anyone make an adapter to go from 1/4" hex chuck to Centrotec?  In other words, I want to put an adapter in a Bosch impact driver so that I can use Centrotec bits in it.

I think I already have all the Snappy and Festool Centrotec adapters but apparently no one makes an adapter to fit a standard impact driver's 1/4" hex chuck so that a Centrotec driver bit can be used?

My Centrotec green lipped bit holder fits on a Metabo/Mafell.

I got 3 of these from ~10$ each (I think on Amazon.de), maybe I got the Metabo??https://www.amazon.de/Mafell-Schnel...ie=UTF8&qid=1479214991&sr=8-1&keywords=Mafell+206766

The 1/4" bits fit, and it may fit on a different drill(?) as the centrotec fit on my drill.

Unfortunately, I don't think the Wiha Centrofix is available in the USA.  Otherwise, looks like that would work.

Or get a few other things from amazon.de and the shipping cost spreads out.

axminster where doug s linked to will mail to the US,(members of FOG from the US have purchased Peter Parfitt's mft hole drilling jig from them),but as has already been stated neither the centrofix holder or festools centrotec bits are impact rated and so either or both may be destroyed in an impact driver, saying all that, many impact drivers have a soft impact mode now and so the holder and bits may well hold up under that setting,if you want one and do not wish to go direct through axminster I would be happy to mail you one.

[member=6803]skinee[/member] That's very nice of you to offer to do that.  Think I will look around on Axminster and see what else I might need.  If I can find enough to make the order worthwhile, I'll give them a go.

Thanks again for the offer and everyone's help.

In case someone else in the US wants one of the Wiha CentroFix bit holders, I can verify that if you order from KC Tools on Amazon, you will receive the correct gray Wiha 71480c CentroFix bit holder.

This Wiha CentroFix bit holder fits in any standard 1/4" chuck such as on an impact driver or a Jacobs chuck.  It accepts both standard 1/4" and Festool Centrotec bits and drivers.

The Wiha CentroFix holder uses the small notches that are found on the end of the shaft on standard 1/4" power bits and Centrotec bits.  The Centrotec bits do not fit all the way into the Wiha CentroFix holder as they would on a Festool Centrotec chuck.  However, the fit is tight and the bits do not come out unless you release them by sliding the collar forward on the CentroFix holder.

There is considerable wobble with both standard 1/4" bits and Centrotec bits on my Bosch impact driver.  Not sure if its the Bosch, Wiha, or the bits.  Seems to work just fine for driving screws, but probably not for drilling.  Not rated for impact drivers.  I am glad to have this option anyway.

Pretty cool.  ;D  Thanks again for everyone's help.
