I brought a new ETS-125 home tonight and gave it a quick test-drive.  I'm beyond impressed;  I'm completely blown away.

And I'm normally a pretty critical consumer.

The ETS-125/CT22 combo is truly amazing and really exceeds my expectations.  The vac sucked up virtually all of the dust;  I was expecting to have a fair amount left on the bench but it was doggone near dust-free when I was done.  phenomenal.  And quiet, and smooth...  shockingly so.

I did have some chatter issues;  the sander seemed to bounce around more than I expected sometimes.  I had the vacuum turned down to minimum suckage, and initially had the sander dialed down a bit.  speeding the sander up to full speed (still at minimum vacuum) eliminated most of it.  Part of the problem may have been my motion with the sander;  the part I was sanding was pretty small and some of my motions were pretty rapid.  Moving the sander more slowly helped too.

But egads;  I've been using that vac with my old Bosch ROS and was getting lots of dust.  I had expected better performance from the Festool, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

So I wish I woulda bought this bugger long ago....

Tom, I think you'll be even more impressed after 6-8 hours of use and the sanders breaks in. The small Festool sanders like the DTS, RTS and the ETS125 run best at full speed. With the randon orbit action of the ETS you don't need to move the rapidly. The orbital sanders work better with long, brisk movements with the grain.

Glad to hear all is well with the new toy.

Tom,

I find my ETS 125 runs the smoothest at the highest speeds as well.
