Just don't overlook the relatively low rated weight capacity (250 lb) of the Amazon product offering.  Or the load ratings of the ceiling structure to which you plan to attach your hoist / overhead storage rack.  Stacking lumber adds up weight quickly.

Surely something like this would be a hell of a lot simpler to use as a hoist, easier to install, easier to modify for the purpose?
