Insert for RO 90 Abrasives?

I've thought about making dividers for a RO 90 abrasives in a SYS2 such as this one.   However I ran out of material and then saw this one by Tanos which looks like possibly a good alternative.  Has anybody used one for RO 90 abrasives as it looks like it should work well and be versatile?  ( I realize that there is an insert for RO 90 discs that stores them horizontally, however it looks like it is a less than efficient use of space with less capacity)

I have the original RO 90 insert in a Systainer and the worst thing about it is the unpiling and repiling of abrasive discs to get the correct ones. Hate it...[mad] [mad] [mad]...I’m going to make my own out of thin ply and form it in the fashion that [member=7493]Sparktrician[/member] did. The same goes for my RO 125 inserts.

Your forgot to mention the 150mm size too! I need to get back on it and build a few inserts for abrasives myself. I do like the adjustable versions, but not sure I see a need, other than a way to increase different grits. Hmmm...

For the 125mm one I plan to fit the most common abrasives into the same Systainer as my Pro5 sander. Not sure I will even need a second Systainer dedicated to abrasives as it is a finish sander, not an RO125, so no need for course abrasives.

I did make some dividers for 5" disks in a Sys2.  The joints on the dividers are a sloppy fit which is an advantage for some abrasives, but I was just hoping to take the lazy way out for the RO90.

Nice setup.  Having the abrasives always with the sander is super convenient.

The Combi Systainer's are nice but also expensive. At the time I made this insert for my RO90 they also weren't available yet. Like Cheese I have one of the RO90 Sys-1's for holding abrasives and agree is sucks. So I keep the most used sandpaper with the RO90 in a SYS-3 and have the second abrasive Systainer when needed.

I'd like to do something similar in a single layer with the abrasives on edge for my Pro5, kinda like shown above. We all have our most commonly used abrasives.

Another nice setup.  I wish I had your dust port on my RO 90.  What are you using to fab your inserts?  Are you solvent welding them?

Yes #4 solvent. Plastic is superior to wood in many ways. ABS would be perfect for these types of projects, but I got these plastic sheets for free. Thinner would be better too. That Systainer is heavy.https://www.amazon.com/Weld-Acrylic-Adhesive-Applicator-Bottle/dp/B0096TWKCW

I'll probably just use luan for my next insert. Light and cheap.

The Tanos insert arrived today and is just the ticket for the RO 90 abrasives in a Sys-2. It needed minor trimming on the rear because the Festool Systainers have several molded vertical reinforcing webs that the Tanos versions do not.  Now I need to find that label maker [smile]

    First for the RO 90, then for the RO 125.  I used a Sys2 for the RO 90, and a Sys3 for the RO 125.
