I received the updated Festool CT 26 (574930) today and sat my Oneida Ultimate Dust Deputy on top of it and, surprise, it fits!

However, it seems with the new updated CT hose garage you need to turn around your UDD to make it work. This creates a problem due to a 1/4" tube that is used for back pressure/suction not being long enough to reach. I read elsewhere here that Oneida will begin shipping longer hoses with their units. But I don't plan on using a bag in my set up, so no worries for me.

I am happy that the UDD unit came with 2 right angle adapters, so the hose doesn't sprout high from the top. I also took the black UDD hose to my bandsaw to trim about 6 inches from it. This creates a tighter nice look IMO.

Just thought some of you might be interested in seeing it mounted as proof it works. I will probably do a video review of it in the next few days and will update this post accordingly.

The new hose is a joy to use. it is very flexible, smooth and a joy to work with.

“took the black UDD hose to my bandsaw to trim about 6 inches from it. This creates a tighter nice look IMO.”

I was thinking that hose looked about a half foot too short...

It is a tighter look but it is also a very tight turn up top. I didn’t like the one elbow on my CT Mini but I can’t prove elbows significantly reduce flow...

How is the UDD secured to the new garage hose top?  Is there a t-loc connection on the udd to hokd it on, or ???

You should be able to pick up some 1/4" poly tube off Amazon, EBay, McMaster-Carr, or locally for cheap.
Don't use the soft, vinyl tube, it will probably collapse under vacuum.

[member=53094]jdm5[/member], it has attachment points that utilize the four Systainer latches on the hose garage of the vac. It is not T-LOC, presumably because the larger vacs weren't T-LOC capable until recently.

I always like the dust deputy.  I’ll admit I’ve always wondered why it was so expensive for a plastic box.  $349 Canadian.  It really should be more than $149 for what it is.  Otherwise it a very useful add-on.

Seeing those photos reminds me that of my desire for someone, anyone, to offer a nice antistatic sweeping 90.

[member=182]Corwin[/member] - have you written ONEIDA and asked them for such a part?
A more compact routing of the vacuum hose to the nCT-vac would be helpful.

No, but then I have a ClearVue cyclone (those before Oneida got a patent on theirs) so I didn't contact Oneida. However, I did post this on the 'wish list' thread here for Festool to see... ... ... ...  [wink]

Looking at the price for the LongLife bag, it probably makes more sense to cough up the extra coin for the Ultimate Dust Deputy if it saves filters vs coughing up the extra change for the Longlife bag.

How about a sweeping 180 fitting for the top of the UDD? ;-)

Which reminds me, I either need to call Oneida and see about picking one up ... or ordering one before the end of the month.

Price increases make me grumpy.

Has anyone measured either the CFM or the inches of water suction before and after the Dust Deputy?

I had to turn mine around but the clear plastic pipe was long enough.

Nice! Great to see that the UDD works fine with the new T-Loc hose garage. Ill be ordering one from FestoolProducts here shortly. Just getting over the $50 price tag! But Im hoping to recover some from selling my like new condition old style hose garage!

I believe the $50 will be worth it as it is an improvement on the original.

It certainly looks like it from what I have seen in pics and videos. And as I understand it's supposedly build with more reinforcement to prevent the cracking issue many had with the previous style. Thankfully mines been fine so far but I am very gentle with my tools. Still, itll be nice to know the newer version is built more robust.

Is it possible to just move the plastic fitting to the front of UDD box into a tapped hole and plug the old one?

I did and now have a sleek setup on my 26.

I thought Festool would void the warranty if an aftermarket device like the UDD is attached.  Has that changed?
