Now I have a IPhone5 and have been using the headphones which come with it.      The sound they produce are good but man they hurt so bad  really bad in my left ear they hurt a little my right ear it hurts so much I can't keep it in any longer than 30seonds.    I have tried them in every position in my ears no luck and I forced my self the wear them for one hour.    Terrible worst ear phones I have ever used in my life.

I researched on google and found I was not the only person with this problem.  Apple took 3years to design them to fit every one what a bile off rubbish

Got my mum to try them they don't hurt her she says but they feel like they are going to fall out at any moment which one of them did soon as she turned her head.      A

I don't see how a solid shape could fit every ear - doesn't seem likely.

Fortunately for me the iPhone 5 headphones suit my ears very well - the original ones were very uncomfortable for me.

All said - I only tried the Apple ear buds out of curiosity - I use Jays - very comfortable and no stuffing about with tangled wires.

My 2 sons bought them to use with their IPhone 4 and they like them. Is not a one size fits all but the sound is not bad and the volume buttons work easier.

I bought the earpods also and i must say they are great for me, I got them mostly for the gym and i havnt had them just fall out. I actually caught the wire on the bike once and it nearly ripped my ear off because the fit so well in MY ears. Guess im one of the lucky ones they work well for. They also blow the old apple earbuds out of the water when it comes to sound and base.

Ive had the iphone 3g - 4 and now the 5, and i must say the earbuds for the iPhone 5 are much better now than the others, in fit and in sound.

Got my dad an iPhone 5 for his birthday. I didn't care for the earbuds at all. I still prefer buds with a rubber ear grommet thingy. Fits snug but still comfortable. But to each their own. Apple made those white earbuds iconic.

Not given mine a proper test but did try them in, felt pretty good.  Much better than the old ones but i don't use ear buds often.  Anyone using any of the Bluetooth speakers like the Bose or Sonos ?  Quite fancy the Bose one but at £250 GBP i want to know they work well with good sound.

Also, hows everyone getting on with the iPhone 5 ?  I really like mine but sometimes the call quality comes & goes !  Kinda as if the other person is moving the phone around as they are talking !  Quite disappointing !

Woodguy, I've got a Bose Bluetooth ( single ear only) and the sound is pretty good.  Takes a bit getting used to hearing music in one ear only though.  My girlfriend has the Bose headphones (corded) and the sound is amazing.  Night and day difference between iPhone buds and the Bose.  When you put the Bose ones on you think "oh, so this is what music is supposed to sound like."

I use the Etymotic series on my phone and love them.  The flexible ear tips make them very comfortable.

I have a nice pair of Bose headphones, but got it between my ears that I had to have the new Apple earpods... what was I thinking? On the subject of earphones falling out, I have found that keeping the inside of the ear trimmed works best to have the darn things stay.

For some reason, Apple just can't make a pair of ear buds for me that fit or are remotely comfortable. I use a pair of Bose over the ear headphones at home...I was using a pair of Bose in ear wired buds for work since they allow sound to pass through but got tired of catching things with the wire. I've been using the Plantronics Marque 2 Bluetooth single ear piece with a2dp and the sound is very good...and I can take calls as well!
