Is a Festool FanFest worth doing in Central VA?

One of my hopes for several years has been to put together National and Regional Festool / Fog meetings / events/ conventions.  After much thought and trepidation, I offer the question:

If I could put together something in Richmond, VA in the late Spring / early summer where members would have the opportunity to learn, mingle, socialize, enjoy, play with the tools that they don't have, and possibly see stuff that might possibly be in the pipeline,  would there be interest?

This location is of course because it is local to me, and this is a real life experiment to put together information to be used for future events.

Thoughts?

You!  Brice!  You'd come?  Talk about a headliner!

or were saying that it would be me and mastercabman?  talking about Festool and Fog stuff in the the IHOP?

Make my day.

Peter

I'd possibly come if in latter half of June since my sister-in-law and her family live there. We've never been there so a FogFest might be the tipping point to get me to make the 2+ day trek to Richmond and kill two birds with one stone.

I would love to come but it is a long way from Phoenix.  I need to figure out a way to make a work trip out there.

I may be interested in this.  Could be a  nice little vacation.  I may have to bring the wife.  Any good things for a lady to keep herself entertained while I hang with the boys and mess around with some tools?  I'm thinking about saving up for a Kapex.  Any plans for dealers selling at this FanFest?  I may start saving some cash!

I would also consider carpooling from the Connecticut area!  Save a bit on travel expenses!!!

This situation is sort of like which came first - the chicken or the egg.  If there enough interest from members and then that will draw out the dealers.  Then it will grow.

Things for the wife to do?  Sure.  Has to be part of the consideration.  Send me a message about their interests and I will get some information together.

Peter,
Some how we'll have to make also a reunion of the August router&cabinet class. Now if we can get Dan, Brian & Steve.

Sounds like fun. I too will being my wife.

Sounds like fun. I wish ya (someone) could do one out west, Calif, NV, etc..

VA is a little far for me. But I would love to be able to go.

I might try to make this work also.  builderbob - we could try to organize a road trip since my house is on the way.

Peter  I would gladly like to be there, this could really be a fun event for the FOG nation

@bwiele...I'm totally down for a carpooling!  I would much rather take 684 instead of 95 in the Connecticut area...it's a terrible & evil highway!
