Didn't look too hard, Brice. I figured someone would know right off the top. If you really wanted to rub something in, I am surprised you didn't bring up the score from the RedWings/Penguins game. [embarassed]

[big grin]

Thank God I'm not married!! In January so far I bought a used rotex 150, domino, tennon & cutters sys, mft/3 and have my fingers crossed that I might be able to get one of those recon'ed OF 1400's!  But to off-set the cost, I've started wearing my glasses more often and convinced myself that I dont REALLY need to buy contact lenses for a while  [eek]

It's not the wife you need to worry about, it's what comes after. When I bought my MFT, TS 75 and OF 1400 the first thing one of my friends said to me was, "Isn't it great not having kids?"

Ro90!  Mint!  !  I am working on this plasterers house doing all the joiner Oak flooring Skirting architrave kitchen etc. He was saying he likes to keep some of this wood around the stairs and not paint it but he said it took him ages to sand a little area upstairs with a orbital sander and he still cant get the stain off it properly. I had a look and said let me get my sander out (RO90) I used it for this plaster on this area just a little Demo for him and it removed it all dead quickly with 120grit on geared mode.  I went to another area where he had not started sanding it yet and took sanding it just as quckly down to the wood in no time.  He loved it he wanted me to sell it him there and then untill I told him the price lol! He said can you sand all the wood around the stairs for him!  I love it brilliant little sander! Definitely the best little sander I have ever used! Nothing comes close!  He was being cheeky and said he wanted to try it out for a bit sand a bit more i let him have a go lol!

Am I the only one not dealing well with delayed gratification? I have the perfect job for my new RO 90, but it won't be here for a month. This is painful.

I can guarantee that you are not alone.  I have wanted one of these since last July when I got a chance to play with a pre production model.  I loved the one I handled, there have have been some improvements since then.  I have not pre-ordered but will one day have one.

I predict that the wait will be worth it in the end.  The stuff coming out this year will rock!  I can't say anything more about that.

Look what he does to us! He is practically taunting us!  [big grin] Seriously, these new tools are like movie trailers for the first Batman or Star Wars movies (though of course the tools are so much better than these movies). Waiting is hard, but also fun. It's part of the deal.

My wife is angry whether I get a tool or not, so I may as well get it anyway.

Taunting?  No.  I was cleared by special permission to see a whole bunch of stuff, but got to spend hands on time with the Carvex and the RO90.  Shane sat there watching and after spending 20 minutes playing I put them away.  I think he was a little disappointed.  He said I could  play more.  I said I didn't need to.  They were that much different and that much better.  I knew.

Went to lunch with Shane, Brian, and Steve.  What a great day.

When you have these in your hands - you'll understand.

Remember what has been written here before - Festool has a 5 to 7 year tool development process.  Maybe some of the other stuff I saw will be here in the next 5 to 7 years.

Start saving up.

I can only imagine! I actually work in the field of designing information technology, but I am more focused on data and functionality. There is a field, known as "user experience" that seeks to combine ease of use, good design and even marketing into technology (mainly online, web based). Festool blows any technology company away in this area. Example. The green is part of their brand, their logo. We even call it that here. They use it in their products, but not just as "branding" but as an aid to functionality - any object that is an adjustment or control is also green. That is pure genius. There is a human factors/design term, "affordance." A door knob provides "affordance" by communicating in how it functions (push or pull or twist). You pick up any Festool and "the green" tells you how to use the tool. Festools are absolutely loaded with affordance. Alas, afford-ability it another issue!  [big grin]

Only a company that completely adopts design as part of their culture can come up with this stuff. Others may try to copy, but unless they really "get it" the copies will be kind of pathetic and miss the subtle genius, intelligence and hard work of the original.

Peter,

I'd be willing to take you to lunch as long as you don't mind my psychic friend joining us.  [wink] [smile]
