Is there a reason to not sell my Systainers?

I just bought a RO125 and have no use for the systainer.    Do I need it for my warranty?
I have a dedicated sander cabinet and it just takes up more room that I need.

I realize this was posted in the Ask Festool section, but really I think this is a matter of opinion which I'll yield to our forum members to address.

Store it in the attic or somewhere. If you ever want to sell the router and upgrade to a newer model later, the resale value will be much higher with the original Systainer.

Pretty sure you don't need it for the warranty. Shane must have missed that part of your question, he's the best person to answer that because he's the one with inside knowledge.

Oops, very sorry. I did miss that part.  [embarassed]

No need to have a systainer for warranty purposes. In fact, we encourage folks to ship their tools in for repair without the systainer, which might get damaged in transit and just adds to the shipping cost/weight.

Well, you might have nightmares of your Festool tools being forced to go naked. Or perhaps, your other systainers might rebel when they realize that one of their kind has been deprived. But invariably, I don't think you'll experience any practicable problem from selling them off other than possible resale value.

As you might have seen from some of the stupendous systainer collections that others have, some people appear to put a tremendous value on their systainer family.
