Issues with a flooring guy

Agreed:
I hate it when they purposely bury cabinets with flooring, what a dumb thing to do.

Not running the floor under the cabinets is completely unacceptable. The savings of not doing so is minimal and by doing so you avoid issues with the cabinets being 3/4" lower, and having gaps to deal with around the dishwasher and oven. The only time this could even be considered acceptable is if a wood floor is installed in a kitchen during a remodel that does not include cabinets and even then it's unlikely I would not remove and reinstall the cabinets at the new height.

That's not how things are done here. The tapers prime walls and texture ceilings then I come in and install doors, wanescotting, casing etc. the painters are next because all trim and doors are sprayed, never brushed. They also paint the walls at this time. Cabinet guys are next followed by electricians then flooring goes in and I come back to install base and hardware. The order rarely changes, even in renos. It's just the way things are done here.

Unless you are building tract homes this is not the way to do it. The floor has to go in before any of the other items can happen, otherwise their will be fit and finish issues. If you do build tract homes then it is probably OK given the tight margins and speed requirements.
