Hi all,
I was lucky to get my hands on the new Collins Coping foot for the Carvex before it was officially avaliable and thought I would start a post highlighting it. I have no ties to Collins Tool Company, I just happened to send an email inquiring about it at the right time I guess.
I'm hooked, this is my first experience using a coping foot and I am blown away with how accurate and easily cuts can be made. Paired with the quick change base of the carvex, swapping from the standard base to the coping foot is about a 3 second process.... seriously! The bolting and Un bolting method used for the coping foot on all jigsaws must be a little cumbersome and time consuming which I'm sure prevents a lot of people from either using it when they should or buying it all together. No more excuses!!! This is a game changer on the Carvex and I honestly think a reason in itself to buy a Carvex.
As you can see in the pictures, the coping foot comes fully assembled and ready to use, it also self aligns itself with the saw so there is no messing around.

As you will see in the next picture, the blade guard does need to be removed to install the coping foot (it will go on with the gard in place but it flexes the guard forward slightly, I opted to remove it) it is an easy process to remove and reinstall the guard. Just pinch the two parallel lengths of the guard towards each other up close to the head of the saw and then pull down.
I fou do if you lower the dust shroud one click it serves as a great blade guard while the coping foot is installed.

Some pictures of it in action to follow
Please feel free to ask any questions, for specific use examples or additional photos
