Japanese floor lamp

Very nice!  I want to try that on a future project.  What was your source for the rice paper?

Thanks for sharing JC -

Nice...very nice. As good as it looks unlit, the real magic appears once it’s been turned on.

Looks great!  You should look into an LED light that you can change the colors, like a Phillips hue bulb.
PS I wouldn't want have to to dust it!

Beautiful job. I have something similar in mind, only in a table lamp size, and was thinking about using one of the "flickering" LED bulbs to simulate a candle, think that would be striking in a dim room. Flickering LED Bulb

amazing!
this floor lamp style is more like a tower, which also similar to chiphy floor lamp:https://chiphylighting/shop
they all create a fantastic lighting atmosphere and also play a decoration role.

Many sources, but note that the original spec rice paper will shrink when moistened.  This is an advantage as you can apply the paper dry and after the glue has dried a light mist of water quickly wiped dry will allow the paper to shrink and the panel will be tight as a drum.

There are many wood paper sources and synthetic sources available.  I don't know if you can shrink those.

I made a simple panel door using tyvek.  That will not shrink, but it is highly resistant to damage.  It will allow light to transmit through but not as well as the paper does.

There are also decorative rice papers, some with flowers or butterflies actually inbedded.  Others with patterns.

I got two books on Sjogi screen building from Amazon.com
