Hi
I do not see Jerry on at the moment but does anybody know when his Domino Manual will be available?
Many Thanks
Reg

Reg; a while back, Jerry said in a post:

"I hope to have it to Festool by the end of March.  From there it is internal review time before acceptance and release.

Jerry "

So, don't know how fast or slow the Festool review(s) will be.

Mike

Hi Reg,

It was transmitted to Festool USA this week.  Turns out there are so many uses for the Domino beyond the obvious ones that the manual swelled to just under 80 pages, nearly 200 phots and five build-along projects.  My bed mate editor is still looking at me over the reading glasses perched on the end of her nose with that "do you really have to make this thing so long" look.  I hope you will enjoy the read.

WOW Jerry, it sounds great and can't wait to read it.

Ordered my Domino today and it won't be complete till I read your manual. Thanks for the hard work.

Gary

Boy oh boy!  You sure couldn't ask for any better timing!  Looking forward to this.

Does the manual come with the tool or is it something extra? I would love to read a GOOD manual before I buy the Domino, and I hear Jerry is a good writer.

If you've read any of Jerry's other manuals (available for free download on the festool web site), you'll know he's a good writer and a creative woodworker--his Domino manual should be very useful.

But if I recall correctly, isn't Rick Christopherson writing a tech manual for the Domino?  I hope that will be available to those of us who buy the Domino, because Rick's tech writing is second to none.

I've already got a bunch of pieces lined up and waiting for the Domino to arrive. Edge joins, frame miters, edge miters. I'd prefer to read Jerry's manual first, so I can skip the inevitable trial and error process. Oh, well, guess I'll have to figure out a few things all by my lonesome.

Even Jerry's? I think I will stick with Jerry, I heard his manuals were excellent..

Gary,

If you've read both, you'll see that they are both excellent wood workers AND excellent writers!

Regards,

Dan.

I heard that Rick's manual was going to be in the Systainer...can anyone confirm?

Bill-e,

I have my Domino, how could I confirm that the manual was written by Rick? My initial reaction is to say no.

personally i won't purchase a domino until i read Jerry's manual... Really i won't please festool lords post it without further adieu. thanks dan p.s. i think the domino theme song has already been written by van Morrisson if I'm not mistaken ya know oooh oooh domino.Oh by the way I rarely use my RS2E but I did the other day and it's a great tool when you need it.

Too funny, I found it as well.

I was trying to be nice and didn't want to say "No" because the manual included is terrible and then find out it was the one he wrote.

The new one is fantastic.

I'm looking forward to downloading, reading and enjoying your Domino manual Jerry, which I understand is more of an applications manual.

Since Rick got permission to release a draft of his manual (excellent job, several useful examples), today  can you do the same?

All of us Dominoers are eagerly awaiting it.

Thanks to all for the kind words and I am glad so many of you find the manuals useful.  I write these for Festool and am compensated to do so.  Festool, therefore, is the one who can and should post it when they finish their internal review.  It is important that they have the opportunity to review anything they have sanctioned to make sure I didn't inadvertently say or show something they feel is incorrect or inaccurate.  While I only include things I personally have done so I know they work and represent safe practice in my studio, Festool staff here or in Germany may find something they question.  So, much as I enjoy sharing with and learning from this group, we will have to wait until Festool reviews this manual and comes to the conclusion it is something they want to post on their web site or include with their product.

My Domino arrived yesterday PM and did not contain a copy of Rick C.'s manual.  I am printing it off the internet.  Thanks, Rick.  Now if I can only get my taxes done, I can begin to learn how to use this new tool.

Apologies for the late reply....but Thanks all for your feedback!. Have downloaded Rick's Manual and learned something new already!. Cannot wait for Jerry's manual to be released!
