Jigsaw shopping, need help

I was not as clear in my previous post as I should have been. In my experience the worst part about the poor blade visibility of the Trion is not following the line (as Scot said the pointer is helpful) but knowing when to stop, knowing exactly where the blade is to avoid over cutting a stopped cut. Most of my use with a jigsaw seems to include stopped cuts (as opposed to through cuts) and I am always guessing at the blades exact location. I have over cut by just a bit way too many times.

I live in Kenora Ontario and if the OP is still wants a Trion, and doesn't mind a lightly used one perhaps we could stike a deal...

PM me if your interested.

Festool did one thing wonderfully right with the Carvex.  They made it extremely easy for third party folks to make aftermarket bases.  That has to be a factor in anyone's decision when looking for a high end jigsaw.

Have you seen the Carvex base adapter from Multi-blade?  Go to the website and check it out.  You can make an oversize with handles that will let you make a beautifully supported cut and never even touch the jigsaw except to turn it on and off.  One configuration turns the Carvex into the ultimate scribing jigsaw.  You could mount your Carvex to any kind of trammel you can rig up.  You could easily rig up an under table mounting for a bandsaw-in-the-field type rig on an MFT.  It almost makes you wonder if you could get Festool to sell you the saw without any base!  I'll just take the saw please.  I'll make my own bases.

Then there's the Collins coping foot for the Carvex.

If you are a Festool drill person you can go cordless which has to mean something.

And I keep wondering about that fat Mafell blade.  That's the big thing Mafell has.  It's fat and rigid and tapered in the back and it's the most awesome jigsaw blade ever conceived.  Can it be adapted to fit the Carvex?
