Jigsaw: Trion or Bosch JS572?

Timberwolf is the North American (US ?) distributor.

You have 2 options:
1) Get the 110v model (US/Can/Mexico) model
2) get the 230v model and run it via the transformer form Timberwolf or Amazon, or if you chop has 220 then change the plug. Or with a drier outlet.

If you prefer buying from the Eu, then try google.de and search Dictum, Kirshcner, elektrowerkzeug-shop .
Most people shy away from 230, the other thought is that it then opens up ALL the Eu tools.
The 19% VAT is not charged shipping out of the Eu, but may be charged by Canada coming in (??).

Where do you guys buy your Mafell P1CC's?  I don't even see a place that sells them on a quick Google search.  That worries me if I ever need to have service or buy a part.

Here it is coming at you...be prepared for the bottom line.

Your problem with service or parts will probably be a lesser issue than the initial purchase price. Once you own it, not servicing it will become a non-issue!!!

Trion, trion, Trion.

I don't know why one would even consider a different choice.

The Trion is the best jigsaw I have ever used by far. So smooth, very strong and amazingly accurate.

I also have a Carvex that I bough for LED Light & Battery convenience, and I think it's great but find the Trion a bit more solid & smooth feeling.

Sure blade guide adjustment can be a slight pain, but easily worth it for the accuracy it provides! No other jigsaw I've used is as accurate as the festools. I've never used the maffel, but already in this thread people are talking bald flex without the extra thick maffel blades. . . And that already sounds like a bit of an issue to me.
The festool jigsaws work great with any blade. If you adjust the guides.

You speak from experience, which is good.
I would say that one of the main difference between the jig saws is in the guides.

As far as flex, those 6" bosch blades are pretty long, so some flex is probably expected.

I want/need to get the Festool blade for open cell foam... I could probably carve a turkey or a ham with it.

No, there's no 'bad flex' with the PC1. Absolutely the best jigsaw I've owned or used. From the Festool range, I'd take the Trion every time.

I have respect for Mafell, although I know him only from the narrative. Triton was my first festool 14 years ago. Today looks like this. I'd buy it again.

I liked my trion didn't like the blade guides or sight lines but a high performance machine. Didn't like the looks of the carvex but haven't tried it so take that into consideration with my critique. Those newer bosch are in wide use at work. I've used them, not extensively but was pleased with the performance for the task at hand. I'm sorry I said "red tool" and not mafell I guess but I knew that wasn't in consideration for you and the price tag is hefty for your intended use so I won't be recommending it for you. Yes I started the "other forum,  mainly because there was a lot of talk of mafell products here and they're obviously a competitor. Out of respect for the FOG I created a different forum to talk about that stuff but that doesn't mean I hate festool, I've got my finger on the trigger for a 2200 as we speak. Regardless this thread isn't and shouldn't be about me it's about your choice in jigsaws and I think both machines you've picked are pretty solid, I have more experience with the Trion out of the two so I may seem more critical of it only because I used it more.

Back to other forums I may be on, I'm also on Facebook and instagram.

Cheers

How much are you working with a jigsaw? If you use it a lot: go Mafell.
If you cut different materials and need to change blades often, go Bosch.
If you're doing cuts with the same blade, go Trion.
IMO it takes a little experience to adjust the Trion. Therefore i would not recommend it if you're changing blades every 5 minutes. But other than that it's a powerful jigsaw and it's ergonomics are great, even for me, a leftie. Haven't tried a Bosch, though..

I found this open box Bosch 1591 at Home Depot but he said the display was missing the blade holder.  I don't know what the original state looks like so I do t k ow what part is missing or how easy it would be to replace it.  I figured someone here might know before I suggested they sell it to me reduced of course.

Fancy accessories and weight. The Carvex is a good bit lighter than the Trion. I think it also runs cooler, with it's supposedly more efficient motor. When it's 35 degrees (C) outside, a Trion does become too hot to touch after some use.

Other than that; no idea.

Also note that the Trion was made cheaper after the introduction of the Carvex.

Right now the Carvex seems to be 20% more expensive than the Trion.

So I picked up a Bosch 1591 at a pawn shop here for $110 tax in.  Good condition? Just no box or black plastic foot pad (of splinter insert) which I'll order.
Seemed like a good deal for a nice jigsaw. The self setting side blade support arms are nice, no wrench needed when changing blades.
