Joined tracks are not flush to the board

Hi all,
please help me to figure out what is wrong here?
I am connecting two tracks ( short and long) using all the best practices - leaving a small gap, having the saw itself on both for alignment, clamping both sides, but the edge of the larger track isn't sit flush on the sheet. I tried from both ends, moving the rail connectors to the other side-same results.

Any ideas?

My guess would be that one or both of the rails are twisted or bent.

Do they both sit flat and flush on a flat piece of MDF separately without any gaps or rocking?

This is normal. Depend how you joined them etc. etc.

What I do when I get a new rail is to slightly file the "starting" edge so that the saw can "push under" the next rail section and does not get "stuck" on it.

Thanks for the idea. Yep - you right - the shorter one is 100% good, and the longer one isn't -seems like it is slightly bended someplace, still can't figure out where exactly. Total bummer, and I can't figure out how  - both under 1 year old, both stored on a dedicated rack separately, each on a shelf.... Guess I need to get me a new one, or just live with this...

Depending on how you plan on using them and how the final pair ends up on your material, do they mate up better when connecting them in the opposite order?

Unfortunately, seems like I am getting the same result from both ends
