Very nice.  Like the color and choice of hardware as well.

What is the hardware that enables the cabinets to open like that?

Thanks for sharing.  Hope you are enjoying the move to Colorado!

Very nice and I like the secret door thing Tom...pretty slick way to keep firearms/jewelry/watches and other expensive hobbies from disappearing. I wonder if some on the FOG have done that same thing for their Festool's.  [smile]  [popcorn]

Designed the unit in Fusion 360, this allowed me to locate the pivots properly. The case on the right swings first, there is 1/8" clearance between the left rear corner of the unit and the right side of the right bookcase as it swings.

Pivots are pillow bearings and axles I turned.

For the record and if you ever have to do a hidden system, in is 90% easier than out.

Every time I see one of your builds I'm in awe, but this really takes it over the top!  Thank you for sharing on the FOG!

Very good looking project.

And I love the mounting bearings and steel plates.

Tom, that is just downright sweet!  [thumbs up]  How do you keep the right swinging section from getting dinged against the adjacent fixed section when it is swung fully open?

There are stops on the top of the bookcases with bumpers, they are adjusted so the unit stops about 1/16 short of the pilaster.

If you look at the top and bootom where the horizontial members are, you'll notice they were cut and set so when the units are open the sharp edge of the miter does not hit.
