Picked this up off Craigslist. $150 and in great shape!
That is all.

I never find deals like that. I'd even leave the purple latches on it!

Just out of curiosity, what did you use for a search term?

I periodically search for Festool on Craigslist and have three items I'm interested in right now (this was one of them). This was a great deal, but I did have to drive a ways to pick it up.

Congrats to the OP. That's a great deal.

Some of the best deals I've gotten make me feel guilty or sad or both.  Sometimes I feel guilty because I feel that the seller didn't really know what they were worth and that I might have been taking advantage of them by not saying so.

Some of my very best deals came after the owner died.  The family just wants to get rid of the stuff and could have gotten more if they had just known more.  I picked up an MFT/3 set (minus rail) with leg braces for, I think, $150 like that, along with a bunch of other stuff at similarly low prices.  The guy was in his late 30s and died of cancer and his family had too much stuff to deal with - so theyjust  looked up retail prices and made guesses as to what the stuff would sell for, not knowing that in my neck of the woods Festool stuff sells at much less of a discount than used tools usually do.

I also picked up a full Incra LS router table setup, complete with the stand, positioner, Wonder fence, insert plates and set of magnalock rings, router, and a whole whack of Incra accessories and stuff for $250 from a widower and her son.

Sometimes when I use the MFT or go through the Incra I see the previous owner's hand writing,or careful packaging of screws, and I feel like their ghost is there. And I feel bad that maybe I should have offered more money instead of taking the deal and saying nothing.  Sometimes I tell myself that if I had known the circumstances around the sale before making the trip, I might have acted differently.

And yet tomorrow I'm going to go pick up what I believe to be another great deal.

Confessional over.  Sorry for the downer.

That's a thoughtful way of looking at it and I agree it never feels good to profit from someone else's misfortune. Lucky for me it was a guy close to my age who had purchased the systainers/sortainers a few years ago and never really utilized them. He said he realized he underpriced them as he was inundated with calls all day. Lucky for me I happened to be first!:)

do great work with those tools and enjoy them and give a good customer a little discount some day and the former owner will be happy for your purchase.

This is what I picked up today:

7 Walko-IV's for just USD 2400. It wasn't my find, I just jumped in for transportation.
They were bought by group of forum members of a dutch woodworking forum.
They were sold as 1 lot at an auction, the auctioneer (is that a word?) regretted putting them online after he discoverd what they are worth.

Holy moly CJ, that's a great deal! Now that I've been browsing Craigslist more, I picked this up this morning for $200! And it was from a wood shop about 5 blocks from me so this purchase was even greener than the last one. ;)

I did see it posted on Surrey, BC, Canada. Too bad I moved away last year. Good on you.

That was the one! I had about 2 hours each way, so that puts a dent in the awesomeness of my deal but was still worth it. :)

And here it is, cleaned and set up in the living room, 1 Walko-IV, $300:
