Dear Festool users!

I have a CS 50 and I want to add a Trimming Attachment to this. I'm thinking about the KA-UG, but I don't know what is the difference between KA-UG-KS 60-L and KA-UG-KS 120-L, and is it possible to connect/attach this to CS 50?

Please help me!
Thank you in advance!
Best
Imre

Hi,
Yes, you can use them. There are two versions, both identical apart from that the fixed rulers are calibrated to either the KS60 or KS120. That said, none of the rulers may be compatible when using them on a CS50. You would have to adhere new rulers (easily available) and calibrate and glue this to match the distance to CS50’s saw blade.
The two wings are in Left and Right, “L” & “R” in the model designation. The ruler on the Left wing goes right to left, and the Right wing goes left to right.

The older wings for Kapex KS120 (KA-KS) has a roller tape measure at the end and can easily be calibrated to any saw or need. (It doesn’t matter if you buy left or right on these as they can be reversed. They are factory set up as left and right, but they are predrilled for L/R use and use the same tape)

They aren't even factory set up L or R, when I got my kapex set, you needed to reverse one of them yourself.

I really like that I can use them with my cs70 aswell. If you get one of those I would definitely get at least one extra of the supports that screw to the bottom of the profile, they aren't that expensive and the partnumbers can be found in ekat. (I also got extra supports for the dewalt stand I use with my even older makita ls1013, and they where a lot pricier when I got them (60€ vs 10€-ish (bracket, thumbscrew and sliding nut)

They sell them as righty and lefty, but I wouldn’t be surprised if an order was picked with two LL or RR..

Agree on the bracket, there’s too little support. Any day now I’ll put an MDF or ply under the main profile, to have an continuous support until the next sections where the bracket will be used. To accommodate the right height I’ll have to cut the legs, maybe. But, it would double as very useful extensions to my CS 50, MFT and CMS and so forth. If I find an wide aluminium profile later I might try that too. I do use them stationary, as they are quite heavy compared to the new wings.
