Kapex advice please

I am getting the Kapex 120 soon. I have a CTL26 with a 27mm hose. I have read that the 36mm is best, is it okay to use the non anti static hose or is best to use the anti static hose.
I did email the question to UK Festool through their web site 4 days a go and still waiting for a reply.

Mick its fine to just use the non anti static grey hose. I've got one on mine cut down to about 1700 long works perfectly

And if you have access to the Bosch non-AS hose for less, it's identical to the Festool hose. You will need to replace one of the fittings with a festool fitting though. I think it's the tool end but my memory is fuzzy at the moment.

The 36 mm hose is a must for the Kapex. I prefer to use the anti-static hose as it does not attract any dust (and green looks so good !). I have had my Kapex 120 and CT26 for over 3 years now and I am delighted with both - good choices - well done.

Thank everyone for your prompt replays. It will be a squeeze to fit it in the workshop I have a MFT3, TS55, OF 1400 and  a Domino 500 so the Kapex should compliment them well.
I am in the process of making internal folding window shutters that close into a box. A good start for the Kapex.
I shall properly use the 27mm hose for a little while.
As you can see its a small workshop. The Kapex will have to sit on the end work bench.

Buy a cleaning kit with the 36mm hose in it. Saves you money and helps keep the shop / cars clean

I am not far off making the video of my much smaller Kapex mitre station. It is on industrial Coldene castors and moves around my small workshop easily.

Very nice Peter. If only I had room that would be ideal. My workshop is my garage. My lathe is going into storage for a while in to the garden shed.
I think my work bench will have to go and rely on my MFT3.

I found that I have when I tighten down the Kapex I have to adjust each corner to get it level across this point. If the Kapex is just sitting there with not been tightened down my straight edge rocks at this point i.e. The left hand wing is slightly lower than the middle and right hand wing. Is this normal or am I just been too fussy.
I must admit it does not seem matter to the cutting

I imagine the little rubber feet can compress a little. The height above a flat surface of the plane where wood sits is supposed to be 112 mm. Mine is (now) 110 mm. That may be because I have always had it screwed down tight.

When I built the new Kapex workstation I made it 112 mm in case I ever get a new Kapex (most unlikely). So, I now have to put some rubber pads of my own under the four feet to get the levels right. No big deal and easy to fix.

Thank you for the reply Peter. I have drilled out the top to take the rubber feet and it's better. When the saw head is pushed back it is noticeable but when you pull the head all is well. Think I have read about this elsewhere. Any way the cuts are great. Looking forward to your new Kapex unit. If it's no longer than 1300 to 1400mm it should fit.

My new Kapex workstation is being built for ergonomic reasons. My mention of "...just in case I get a new Kapex" was there to show that my new workstation has been built to the correct Kapex spec - there is no way that my machine will require replacing unless it is destroyed or stolen.
