Can someone with a Kapex give the dimensions of the base?

The photo is from the new Festool catalog.  I have an existing chopsaw stand but would love to know how well the Kapex would adapt to it.

- overall width outside to outside in the photo
- depth of the base - outside of leg to outside of leg
- My understanding is the feet will fit into the holes of an MFT.  What is the hole spacing / count?

Thanks -

Neil

Neil,

Sorry, I saw your request a few days ago & meant to get back to you, but I forgot :-[

The Kapex sits in the MFT holes in a 7x5 grid - see my previous post on a mobile kapex stand for more info.

I apologize as well, I saw it when you put it up but had no chance to go check.  :P

- overall width outside to outside in the photo - 790mm x 620mm as shown in the photo, 660mm tall
- depth of the base - outside of leg to outside of leg - 576mm x 384mm

The grid on the MFT has 96mm centers.  7x5 spacing for the Kapex as mentioned by jrb.

Why are there extra rows of holes around the perimeter of the MFT-3 Kapex?

Is there a reason? More holes=bad? or good? If good why is it a question?

I mean offsetting is good.

They allow you to offset the Kapex toward the front/rear/left/right.

Based on the hole pattern, you would not be able to offset in all four directions.  See attached photo highlighting the "extras".

I want to make sure I have the correct answer for the purpose of the additional holes so I will post again with a definitive answer.  My assumption is that the additional holes are made for the feet on the base of the Kapex (which rest in the 20mm holes) and the bolt locations for securing the Kapex to the table.  This would leave an entire row of holes on the front, left and right exposed that could be used for various purposes and leave room for extensions to be attached.

I have mine right up front and center. I'm not sure why you'd want it offset in any direction.

I finally got a solid answer on this.  The positioning of the extra holes will allow the Kapex to be positioned in a way that an extra row of holes is left exposed around the front, left and right sides of the Kapex.  This will allow for possible future add-ons to be attached such as the extensions which have stabilizing bars that connect into the MFT's holes.

I am in the process of designing a work station for my Kapex. Can someone let me know the table length with the L/R crown stops installed. Thanks. Chad

Thanks Brice. Any chance you can give me a assembled length of the table with the crown stops attached. Thanks. Chad

Thanks Brice, That is much appreciated for my design work on the saw work station. Goodbye Dewalt 708. Cheers. Chad
