Hi,
Looking for a blade to cut a few pieces of 80/20. Any recommendations?  I use my dewalt miter saw for some previous cuts but no longer have it.
Thanks,
Trevin

Amana/AGE sell aluminum blades that will fit the Kapex.  I do not have a kapex but I buy blades for my 55,75 ,HKC, and Makita sliders from... toolstoday.com/p-6095-festool-and-other-track-saw-machine-compatible-saw-blades.aspx

I cut a reasonable amount of Aluminium on my Kapex. Dont forget to use a wax stick on the blade with the 80/20 and adjust the blade speed. An aluminium blade (Negative Rake)  is a must to reduce the chance of catching the extrusion and destroying the material, the saw and more importantly body parts.

Could you elaborate a little more on the wax stick? I have waxed hand saw blade in the old days - but never heard of it for aluminium.

Thanks

I do contract glazing, have literally cut miles of aluminum for the last 37 years.  We buy WD-40 by the gallon and use it in cheap plastic spray bottles.  Start your blade running and sparingly squirt some on the spinning blade.  When I started, a long, long, time ago  we used wax sticks and Craftsman crosscut carbide blades.  Now I buy Amana Blue aluminum/plastic blades and unless I'm cutting 3/8" or more I don't even bother with the WD-40.  You can really use any high tooth count carbide blade, but negative tooth rake is the best...the aluminum/plastic blades have a higher rake angle than even the melamine blades.
