How big of a box does a Kapex come in ?  I have to bring it home in my Honda Civic 4 door sedan.  Do you think it will fit ?

Thanks.

You might get it into the trunk..I had to unbox mine and I have an Accord.

One of our customers with a civic coupe was able to fit in in the back seat.  Just be ready to drive with your knees in your chest  [laughing]

He had his front seats up all the way.

Coupes typically have bigger doors than sedans. I'd be surprised if it would fit.

Larger door, but the front seat blocks a good portion of it.  I'd say give it a go, the worst that might happen is you unbox it for transport.

Tom makes a great point...The way I looked at it is I was going to break the box down anyway to store it away, so it was just a matter of when.

Maybe you have different plans, but I can't see a boxed kapex fitting into a cvic sedan. Give it a whirl and enjoy your new saw!!

Borrow someone's SUV. It's a big box. If you are buying the stand (I'm glad I did), it is also a big box.

If you decide to unbox it at the store, be sure to get all the pieces. I seem to remember a small allen wrench that was hidden in a piece of the packaging. It's used to adjust the lasers if I remember correctly.

The box is invaluable if you decide to return the saw.

Hi,

I brought the Kapex home in a rented SUV.  Sweet saw.  I am not using the lasers.  I am a blade to the pencil line guy.

Love the bevel gauge and the fact I can place right up against the wall.

Just for the sake of the thread, I just bought a Kapex and brought it home in the back seat of an 09 Civic Sedan.  Folded down the front, passenger seat and it wiggle right into the back seat.  Here's to enjoying out Kapexes.

Please at least try the lasers, Brian. I think you'll love them eventually.

When the person who owns the Kapex I use/have has it in his possession (not sure he'll ever get it back at this point ;)), he transports it in the back seat of his Jetta....................................on the UG stand with the wings.

Properly adjusted lasers are great. I just cut multiple compound angles on curved pieces. Made it easy to align the blade to the layout lines.

Tom

I use the Kapex lasers if the cut doesn't have to be super accurate. If I have to be "dead nuts on", I drop the blade to the pencil line.

I have the lasers adjusted to Festool specs, and it's darn accurate, but I still like to see the blade touch the edge of the pencil line.

In our area, Atlanta, Home Depot rents pick-ups for less than $30/hour all up. Pretty neat for hauling sheet goods and large Festool boxes.

Around here I see people putting queen size mattress on top of their Civics and then lashing it down with some twine. Maybe do the same with your Kapex but just remember to put your hand on it while driving.  [smile]
