Hello,

I purchased my Kapex 6-7 years ago and in my excitement I threw away the box. Crazy I know, especially because I have just about every box that came with Apple products, speakers, etc in my attic. I'm moving and need a quality box to put my saw in. Any one out there willing to part with their box? I'll pay shipping and $25 for your time.

Thanks

You could make one, I have been using it for years and it is much better than the box it came in.

I agree a making box would probably be better.  When I received my saw the box had holes big enough I could shove 4 fingers and a thumb through the holes.  I had parts rattling loose inside and the way Festool made the box made the weight very lop-sided.  I almost dropped the box just picking it up the way the weight shifted.  By the looks of the box I am sure others did drop it.

Hadn't thought of making one. I'm moving over a 1000 miles and using a mover so I'll need something built to withstand handling from other hands.

Building a box is a good idea, but if I were to build a box for my Kapex, I wouldn't just build a box. I'd instead build a box that has other functions, such as as a station for the Kapex, or another machine, etc. after moving to the new place. The Kapex would be bolted to the base of the box for transit, and as long as the box is strong, nothing else would be needed to protect the saw (the saw head of course needs to be locked with the knob). Castors could be added later of the station is meant to be mobile.

If you have a Domino Joiner, this would be an easy project.

Based on the 1,000 mile journey and the way a number of people's Kapex boxes ended up in normal shipping, making your own box is probably for the best.
