  last night my kapex cut in half part #475318 Dust extraction attachment not sure why/how ??
"part #13 on the diagram"
could there be something wrong with saw ?

or is this just a normal thing that can happen ?

can this be something I can replace myself

Mine did it as well, warranty did not cover it. however it was easy enough to replace and the part is cheap. I think some kickback happened.

It may have folded forward against the wood if the piece being cut was thick.

A call to Festool service should get you the part quick and easy.

Good to see I'm not the only one this happened to - 1 week out of the box... my dealer is ordering me another one of these - and STRONGLY encouraged me to build an aux fence - which I did finally. Since then, ZERO kickback...

EDIT: Festool sent a replacement part - interesting to figure out how to install it (Take off the blade, insert the tab on the right side, screw on the left, spring on the tab - 10 minutes). BETTER dust collection, but not great still. Guess I'll have to spring for that on-sale CT26 and the tradesman accessory kit with the bigger hose...
