Kapex discussion with Festool USA

John, you bring up two good points. I will comment on one of them, the quality of Festool products "out of the box." I agree with you completely, most of my Festool tools have been perfect out of the box. The stops for the rail brackets on my MFT and the TS55 riving knife, perfect, just to name a few. However, I do think the Domino, in a rush to get them out, is a tool that very few were/are set right at the factory. ...

Brice,

My experience has been a little different, but I am still a satisfied customer.  My TS 55 came reverse adjusted - toed out rather than in, but it still cut better than any other saw I have used right out of the box, and enabled me [an amateur] to precisely bevel cut some replacement oak passage doors to fit existing frames.  My MFT 1080 came with the stops completely misaligned - the guide rail wouldn't even latch, but the adjustment was easy to fix.  My OF 1400 snap in PC adapter is not perfectly centered relative to the router shaft, but still much better than my other 3 routers.  On the other hand, my Domino seems to have come quite accurately calibrated right out of the box.  So, I would not be worried about Kapex quality or Festool's willingness to make it right if an issue appears.
