Kapex doesn't drop easily

Is this common.  I hAve alot of issues getting the head to drop into cutting mode. Not used alot at all

Can you clarify?  Do you mean when the lock is disengaged?

It could be the guard lift mechanism.  There is a roller that can get wonky or possibly debris caught in there.
